Learning to play acoustic guitar with a guitar book

Using an acoustic guitar book to learn how to play the instrument isn't that far from what's possible, and of course with even more willing students and eager to teach instructors available now, there is certainly a fair share of information out there.

Still yet, if you plan on going the self taught route, make sure that if whenever you invest in a learning resource that you know exactly what you are getting, and also understand that you are not just limited to books. Indeed, audio CDs, video instruction, clinics and even ebooks are just a few resources to name that can show you how to play acoustic guitar.

If you feel that starting off with an acoustic guitar book might be a way to ease into the instrument, then make sure that it covers the absolutely basics. You may even want to consider going with a thin piece of learning material so as not to become overwhelmed. If you have already started off this way, then you should know that any challenges that you are currently experiencing are probably not out of the ordinary, and that once you get past the first few hurdles, guitar playing starts to get really fun.

If you really want to maximize your efforts, you could go with a guitar teacher. The only problem that most people have with this option is that it can become expensive after a while, and as you already know - most people are buckling down and taking it upon themselves to learn things, at least just to save money. You obviously wouldn't want to try to be something like a self taught surgeon, but being a self taught guitar player is more than possible. It seems to be the new revolution of musicians in fact.

Most people are using an E-course to learn and master guitar playing. These typically
have many multi-media files that will show you how to learn and master guitar, and so far this has proven to be the best form of guitar instruction.

CARLOS acoustic guitar, Anyone know how much its worth?
I dont play my acoustic guitar anymore, Ive adopted the piano instead, the guitar wasn't my thing. My father got it for me about 5 or 6 years ago, its one of those high action guitars for those people who are really good. Since I dont play it anymore, I want to sell it because I could use the money. It has the name CARLOS on it, its a very nice guitar, does anyone know this name or how much its worth? The guitar is pratically new, no scratches and shines nicely. thanks :)

I don't know how to play my guitar, help?
I have an Carlos Acoustic guitar that's about 48 years old? New strings (of course). I've had it for four years now and I want to learn how to tune it and play it. I use to play Clarinet for seven years, never got the names of notes down, but I'm good at remembering the fingerings...if that is correct. I'm seventeen and music is a big part of my life, I'd like to open up to it a bit more. I have a few old books from probably 30 years ago on how to play it, but the instructions confuse me, sand it doesn't seem to teach me how to tune. My IMs are open to discuss on this subject more if you'd like or have the time to tell me more: YIM: hottopicaddiction@yahoo.com MSN: hottopicaddiction@live.com I don't have the money to pay for a professional to teach me.

Broken saddle on acoustic?
Was changing the strings on a Carlos acoustic guitar I have, first time putting on new strings, and the saddle fell out, and I accidently snapped it in two pieces. It still fits fine though in the slot on the bridge, and I went ahead and put the strings on, because the tension from the strings holds the saddle in place. Do you think this is ok, or will this lead to problems?
